Square

Why Square Over Other Payment Processors

I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of Square for most of the work we do. Their focus is on in-person payments, and while they do offer online payment processing, it’s not as robust or developer-friendly as some other options. For organizations that need a simple way to accept payments without a lot of custom development, Square can be a good choice, but we generally will push for Stripe.

Key Benefits for Our Clients

Square’s point-of-sale hardware and software can be a good fit for organizations that need to accept payments in person, like at events or physical locations. Their reporting and analytics tools are also pretty substantial, and they have a whole suite of additional services like invoicing and payroll that can be useful for small organizations. For clients that are already using Square for in-person sales, it can make sense to use their online payment processing to keep everything in one ecosystem, even if it’s not our first choice for online

American Council of the Blind of Indiana

Built from scratch for an audience that navigates primarily by screen reader, the ACBI site launched in January 2024 after testing with real members inside the organization, not just an automated checklist. We manage all content updates to keep the formatting consistent and the site reliably accessible as it changes over time.
